MECA's Partnership with BMCC

MECA stands out as an innovative school that allows students to earn both a New York State Regents Diploma and an Associate's Degree from BMCC,  free of charge , over six years.

Through the CUNY Early College Initiative (ECI) and our BMCC Partnership, MECA prepares students for college and helps them get a head start by earning credits.

Starting in 10th Grade, MECA students engage in college-level courses taught by BMCC faculty. By 11th Grade, students begin taking college classes at the BMCC campus, and in 12th Grade, students split their time between BMCC and MECA, taking mostly college courses along with a few high school classes.

At MECA, students can earn up to 30 college credits, and if chosen to continue, they can earn a free associate degree from BMCC at no cost!
