MECA not only instilled a sense of belonging from day one with incredible teachers and immersive programs, but it gave me the tools and resources to succeed both academically and professionally through partners such as BMCC and 4A's.

Im thrilled to have been given the opportunity to become an integral part of a school community I have watched thrive for the last four years and am deeply committed to the core values of Scholarship, Responsibility, Creativity and Empathy. 

I had a great experience at MECA. The curriculum not only provided extensive insights into the advertising industry but also helped me discover my strengths and areas of growth. Grateful for the  supportive environment that foster both learning and self-discovery. 

As the worked based learning coordinator, I design, develop, and manage workshops and events for MECA students to increase their understanding of the world of work helping them discover their career path and build their 21st century skill sets. 

I have seen MECA build up students, preparing them for college and success in the professional world. The care of the staff and the energy of the students is something that I am proud to be a part of each day.

Something I appreciate about MECA is that we're a smaller school, so I can get to know more students and feel like the school is a community. We are also a school that provides a lot of support for our students with a variety of different needs.

Our classrooms are witness to great conversations, critical thinking, and empathy that we feel should be reflected in the world outside of our school. I am grateful for the students who are willing to engage in this important work and am always excited to see where they will take their new found opinions upon graduation from MECA.

As a new member to the staff, but having taught in the DOE for 9 years, MECA stands out as an institution where student achievement is not only encouraged and fostered by an intelligent and steadfast staff, student excellence is both achieved daily and truly celebrated.

The staff and students are simply stellar! Each adult in the building is dedicated to guiding the students of MECA toward the future they envision for themselves. I am continually impressed with the commitment my students show to learning and taking academic risks. What a wonderful place to work!

 MECA students are challenged throughout their academic and personal journeys. Witnessing the growth, resilience, determination, and creativity of my students is one of the best aspects of work. Together we create plans to overcome academic hurdles, explore college and career options and possibilities,  and build the necessary empathy to better understand ourselves and others.
